Sesame Crusted Soy Glazed Ahi Tuna

INGREDIENTS
FOR THE SOY MARINADE :
- 4 tablespoons soy sauce 
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil 
- 2 tablespoons honey 
- 1 lemon 
- salt 
- pepper 
FOR THE AHI TUNA :
- 2-3 ahi tuna steaks 
- black and white sesame seeds 
- vegetable oil 
INSTRUCTIONS
- In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, pepper, lemon juice, and honey. Whisk well to combine 
- In a shallow dish, add tuna steaks and lightly rub down with sesame oil 
- Pour half the marinade over both steaks, flip 
- Cover the other side of the steaks with the marinade 
- Cover the dish tightly with plastic wrap 
- Place in the refrigerator for up to 6 hours 
- After 6 hours, In small shallow bowl, fill a quarter of the way with sesame seeds 
- Pre heat large cast iron skillet or dutch oven on medium high heat 
- Add a 1/4 inch layer of vegetable oil to very hot pan 
- Gently lay tuna steaks into pan and cook one side for 45 seconds. Flip 
- Cook second side for 45 seconds to 1 minute. Remove immediately from hot pan 
- Place steaks into the bowl of sesame seeds and coat both sides evenly 
- Lay onto a cutting board and rest for 5 minutes 
- Using a serrated knife, cut 1/4 inch slices against the grain 
- Serve immediately after slicing - ** Can be paired with ….. diced avocado, cucumbers, vegetable stir fry, simple arugula salad, etc.
